Sample review · Fantastic Mr. Fox has the lovely unevenness of things made by hand. The tiny movements and clothes are a delight, but the family friction stops it becoming just a beautiful object. Autumn viewing, obviously. I like a film that leaves room to think.

Sample review · Paddington 2 makes kindness active rather than sentimental. So many jokes are planted with care and paid off with even more care. I like how much the film believes a neighbourhood can change. A memorable setting can sell me on almost anything.
