From Letterboxd to FilmStash

  1. Export your records from Letterboxd. If you receive a ZIP archive, extract it first.
  2. Sign into FilmStash and open Import & export.
  3. Choose a list, diary, ratings or watchlist CSV. Upload individual supported files, rather than the ZIP archive.
  4. Review the title matches. Resolve any ambiguous rows before confirming the import.

Imported collections keep their order. Reviews and lists start private unless you explicitly choose to preserve visibility from the file; you can review sharing afterwards.

Other lists work too

You can use a CSV with Name or Title and an optional Year, a JSON array of titles, or a plain-text list. Numbered rankings are optional. Files must be under 2 MB; title files support up to 5,000 films.

Before importing multiple files

Existing FilmStash ratings take precedence when merging saved states. Diary viewings and lists are appended. Repeating the identical import resumes its existing batch, but overlapping records from different files can still duplicate viewings.

Your import doesn’t recreate social connections or copy other members’ private data. Check the preview before saving, and contact support if a title match looks wrong.
