This contemporary story deals with the relationship between two brothers, which fell apart catastrophically twenty years ago and has still not been repaired. Karel is a successful businessman in a small Czech town, while Emil has prison tattoos, works as a day laborer, and drifts from one hostel to another. He apparently has a child somewhere, but only sends child support. Karel has a loving family, but his wife and two teenage children have no idea what happened between the brothers years ago; the children don't even know about Emil's existence. Karel needs Emil's help, so Emil spends several days at Karel's house.
