In 1915, Raoul Barre hired young animators GREGORY LA CAVA (who was later to become a distinguished Hollywood director) and FRANK MOSER to produce a series of cartoons titled "Animated Grouch Chasers." Each one combined live action and animated sequences. The Hicks In Nightmareland features several of the latter.
