During the Yongle Reign of the Ming Dynasty, a villager named Song Lai in Jixiang Town provoked the bandits of Jiaolong Village when he tried to rescue his childhood sweetheart, Qiao. Since then, Jixiang Town suffered repeated arson, killing, and looting by bandits.
