Los Nuevos was the only feature film directed by Paul Delfín. It was based on a story by the writer and journalist Edgardo Pérez Llina, who published articles on cinema in the Lima newspaper Correo with some consistency during the 1960s. Los Nuevos aimed to offer a chronicle of youthful anxieties at the beginning of the 1970s.
