About Christian Paul B. Naparota
Christian Paul B. Naparota is a Filipino filmmaker, cinematographer, director, editor, colorist, and VFX artist from Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree majoring in Cinema and has worked in the industry for over 8 years. Naparota is known for his work in Binisaya (Cebuano-language) cinema, often characterized by dark, metaphorical themes and distinctive color and visual style. His short film Rumbles of Earth won Best Short Film at Berlin Newgen 2024 and 2nd Prize for Narrative at the 6th Gawad Alternatibo, and served as the closing film of the BINISAYA Film Festival. As cinematographer, he shot Red Banca and Duwa-Duwa, both directed by Nena Jane, with Red Banca screening internationally to award recognition. He has also won Best Cinematography for Victoriania and Sakmit. He is the founder of XP Films Productions and Director of Renditions Productions. He chairs the Film and Media Arts Committee of the Bohol Arts, Culture and Heritage (BACH) Council and heads the Film and Media Arts Council under the Provincial Government of Bohol. He has served as a festival judge and workshop speaker for regional filmmaking events in the Philippines.
