Leak Lyda

Leak Lyda is a Cambodian film director, producer, and screenwriter. He was born on July 3, 1983, in Kampong Thom Province, Cambodia. Because Cambodia had limited opportunities for formal film education when he began his career, Lyda initially studied information technology. He graduated from the National University of Management in 2005. He entered the entertainment industry in 2007, working for the Thai production company Sky High Production. In 2011, he became a manager and music-video director at Rock Production. In 2012, Lyda became CEO of LD Picture Production, which later developed into LD Entertainment. He made his feature-film directing debut with Ab Wears Helmet in 2012 and went on to direct films across several genres, including horror, comedy, romance, and drama. His notable films include The Clock: Spirits Awakening (2019), Rent Boy (2023), and The Night Curse of Reatrei (2024). The Clock: Spirits Awakening received multiple awards at the 2019 Cambodia National Film Festival, including Best Film and Best Director. The film also received recognition at the Horror Bowl Movie Awards in India. Lyda has also worked as a producer, writer, and script developer and has directed television dramas and commercials. Through LD Entertainment, he has been involved in the development and production of numerous Cambodian films and television projects.
